Team Out Cast is going to be using Vent i mean GSC is ok but not for us most players in CSS use Vent so my self and one other member payed for a vent server for one yr


ya what about the pll using Mac GSC don't work on Mac vent and TS both work on mac TS also works on Linux ^^

The GSC guys are working on a Mac version. I know that because I am a beta for them and as I was one of the first to ask them to do a Mac version.
I haven't talked to the devs for a few month,but I am sure it is progressing.

On another note,I don't think it is advisable for LcT to be splitting between voice comms.
Without being pushy,I would suggest for either the council to vote on which voice comm,either for a poll available to all clans to be posted.That result would then decide on which comm LcT will use

You right about a vote ! But you should come test GSC before :P I already have 56 members of LcT that are register on gsc :P

I know about GSC since I am a beta for them.And I have been one of their most vocal supporters since they launched.Heck,half of the games they added are because I requested them.And the devs are kinda awary of the games I am asking cause each time they have to either completely change or modify one of their codes,lol
To quote the lead dev,each time they see a game request coming from me, they are like "oh boy,another lovechiefs game",LOL

Why would they need to modify the program to support each game? Is it written so poorly that games screw it up? I have heard of any other program which needs to be modified for each other program that is running at the same time. Only exception being xfire because it tracks players in servers etc.

Why don't you guys just use vent. I used to hate it until i actually used it and its way better. A lot more user friendly and there aren't any hacks out there to spam vent and crash it like there are TS and admins actually have to have an account created which is good for pub clans like lct.

Personally I don't like vent at all.
I like TS and I love GSC,however because currently we don't have many Eve players using GSC,I am sticking to TS.
As far as the GSC devs changing code,it is needed for all the features to work in all the games. For example,it is a major pain for GSC to have all its features fully working in any game which uses GameGuard as anti-cheat.That is because GG blocks all 3rd party softwares(depending on the game dev).But anyway,the code changes are just things that allow for all the features to be working.Don't forget that not all games are equal.
And by the way,GSC also tracks players and so forth. GSC is basically a combination of TS,Vent and Xfire,with better quality than the previous named programs

Also,I think that the voice/text comms for LcT should be decided by a vote

people say GSC has better quality...and i dont believe it. I havent used it myself but vent uses 16 bit, 48 khz which is the same as dvd quality sound. I am pretty sure that all headset mics are not that good of quality and therefore the sound quality is limited to one's headset and not the program.

I guarantee you that you will find GSC to be way better than TS,Vent and Xfire combined :)
Of course headsets do count,however, a program's quality and regular updating counts also.GSC is known to update its software on a regular basis(usually every few month).Also,if an user lets them know of a major issue,the devs will work to fix it.
I can't say the same about TS and Vent.Haven't seen a TS or Vent update for ages.As far as Xfire,they have updates,but their support lacks and in addition, using Xfire in game creates sometimes a major lag

GSC is junk i can't play Lineage 2 and use GSC it will not let me type in game if GSC is open and L2 tells me i have a hacking program open. and vent dose have better voice quality then GSC and uses less resources witch is good for pll that like to play video game ^_^

Your problem has nothing to do with GSC or Lineage per say.
It has to do with GameGuard,which is used by Lineage as anti-cheat.For more info on that problem, please read http://forums.getgsc.com/showthread.php?t=174&highlight=GameGuard
The GSC devs and myself have been trying to talk to GameGuard,however GG is too stupid to even respond to the GSC dev's emails and phone calls.
I used to work for Acclaim Games Inc as 2Moons moderator/volunteer game master and the main reason I resigned is because Acclaim is not willing to deal with GG and make sure that GG allows all programs.
So basically for GG issues,contact NcSoft and tell them the situation.You can also sign the petition.I am waiting to get about 1000+ signatures to sent the petition.

vent updated to 3.0.x only a few months ago....and released the first x64 client feb 27 according my version. does gsc run in x64?

And dont say that gsc just sounds better. What is the actual physical sound quality. Whats the settings?

Who said anything about hacking games?
No one hack any games.What they do is modify the GSC code to allow for GSC to work with all(or at least)the majority of games.
Yea,vent released its new version,but how often do they release updates to fix bugs,provide improvements and such?My bet is you won't see a Vent update for at least the next 2 years.In the meantime, the GSC guys would have released more updates,more fixes,more features.
As far as your question about sound,it is best for you try and judge on it.
What I say to anyone doubting GSC or any other new program is as follow: download,install,test,play with it.Then only complain or compare

Yeah..When GSC as a bug 2 days after a new update is ready ! Ask all of my member they will say it..GSC is for me the best com prog..

oh well, i personnally say gsc sounds better, and gives u opportunity to change ppls sounds, like if someone on gsc is too loud according to you, u can just turn him a little bit down... anyway, i'm a soundman, i use gsc cuz i really prefer it to vent as sound quality, but it's just my 2 cents... just try it if u dont believe it.. sounds really smooth man... didnt believe it until i tried it

I know how it is.It is hard to convert someone to a new software

thats right it is hard to convert someone to a new software. Like new members that you try to bring into your clan no one wants to download / install a new program and make a Acc there its a bunch of BS to use a voice program. same with getting Ringers for scrims most of them ONLY use vent if you tell them you have TeamSpeak or some other, they will not even play with you !

I'm just going to throw my two cents in here...  Myself and my clan use TS, it's what we are used to.  I have GSC on my comp so I can get a hold of Se7enJo or Surge if needed.  I also have xfire, but I rarely use it, causes too much lag in BF2 when it's open.  |1Rb| has it's own TS server, one of our members provides it for us, we only occupy the LcT Ts when ours is down.  I don't think there needs to be a one and only Comm Program for this Community.  Go with what you want to use..... 

FWIW - I've used TS.  I prefer Vent.

no one uses  ts anymore in irc cal or cevo i had to change to vent. and now i kinda like it way more
