if you mean completely wipe the computer clean?
Easyst way is to put in the xp disk and select repair/reinstall and it will show the folders and should have a current one with blank mb used out of blank mb and u just erase it, self explanatory once u get there.

Oh...i thought you wanted to downgrade vista to xp. To reformat the xp comp, just stick in a xp retail disk or a recovery disk form your manufacturer. Pretty simple from there. For a recovery disk, it may be different from a retail xp disk.

my xfire is wfcbriggs

Edit: make sure there is nothing on that pc you want this copy of Xp is set to delete all files and format over it 5 times befor install so all data is gone and not recoverable also make sure you have the drivers downloaded for your pc and burned to a cd if you don't you could be up Sh!t creek with out a paddle  >< after installing windows XP Pro Corp download and install windows service pack 3 then check for updates.

* SleePy wonders if briggs is feeling ok

I actually like windows 2008 server better, its way faster than vista. So what if I have to do things to get it to work a little more like the desktop version.
But I still want to stick with my mac and linux ;)

so sence the topic when on to windows vista . i just installed windows vista ultimate X64 Running on a AMD Phenom X4 9850 Quad Core Processor - Black Edition, Unlocked 2.50GHz, 4MB Cache, 2000MHz (4000 MT/s) FSB, With 8GB's  DDRCorsair XMS2 DHX Dual Channel PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (4 x 2048MB) and the Nvida 8800 GTS XXX running SLI.

all i have to say for all the haters of vista you are so wrong about it this kicks the rear of any XP X86/X64 OS there is !

Why did you go with amd over intel for your quad. Intel is bar far cheaper. I just got a q6600 2.4 quad for 190 cad (oem) and you could probably get it for like 20-30 cheaper in the states. I got it at tigerdirect retail store here. Cheapest i saw on new egg was 236 at tigerdirect.ca. Although i have read that the q6600 2.4 is much faster than the Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.5.
